Revd Dr Tim Hull
Tim has a dual role at St John's. Part of his time is spent working with Extension Studies, in particular developing multimedia teaching resources on DVD - Tim is the creator of the Multimedia Interactive Timeline resource - and developing some new modules. He is also a tutor in college specialising in philosophy, philosophy of religion and related areas of theology.
Before joining the staff at St John's, Tim was registrar and tutor on a non-residential training course and has worked since his ordination in the diocese of Chelmsford.
Tim is also on the editorial board of the Evangelical Anglican theological journal Anvil.
Tim says about his research, "I was encouraged by my supervisor, Colin Gunton at Kings London, to think of a memorable title for my thesis and ended up with "Beyond Cosmos and Anthropos". The problem is it might have been memorable but it wasn't very informative, in fact from that title you are unlikely to guess that it looks at how contemporary theology has reacted to post-modernity."
Tim was originally a student at St John's from 1987 to 1990 on the BTh course, taught jointly with Nottingham University, and while a curate was an Extension Studies tutor.
Apart from producing DVD videos and reading, Tim plays the guitar, "I wasted my youth playing in a rock group", and listens to jazz.
