Join us for a lecture by Revd Dr Pete Phillips.
How do we engage with the Bible in a digital age – through paper, through audio, through screens? This paper will look at Bible Study in the Digital Age, focussing on the changes which new technologies bring to the reading process and asking some questions about our use of different technologies for different tasks. The paper opens up the new possibilities afforded to scholars through the digitisation of manuscripts and libraries, but also looks at the limitations of digital bibles in their current forms. How do we engage with a Bible under glass? Do some reading experiences demand a closer encounter with a physical text?
